When tapped to design the guest suites for House Beautiful magazine’s Whole Home showhouse in Atlanta, Georgia, we created two separate spaces inspired by luxury hotel suites. Design details, such as brass inlays and hardware, high-gloss blue walls, and a Calacatta tiled shower add sophisticated touches that offer a nod to Brynn’s favorite luxury retreats. “We wanted it to be like staying at a high-end hotel,” she says.

In the Respite Room, an alcove lined with built-in bookshelves creates a niche for a custom wall-to-wall headboard and queen bed that can be creatively placed.

In the Cathedral Room, which includes a 14-foot bay window, the soaring proportions were the biggest challenge. To tame the high ceilings and balance the bay window, we included a largescale upholstered screen and a four-poster bed with a tailored canopy. A grasscloth wallcovering combined with clean-lined window treatments and bedding with dressmaker details adds both texture and moments of visual respite. “ We chose a calming palette—gray, cream, and white—and added streamlined details to create a space that felt both soothing and sophisticated. “It feels like a breath of fresh air,” Brynn says. “And these soaring ceilings give you that sense of awe as you walk in.”

“When you enter the Cathedral Bathroom you are instantly hit with a beautiful Arabascato on the walls, however, when you look down on the floor, you’ll see this gorgeous Francois and Co. herring bone that’s very organic and textural.”
